Adult Bikes
Customize your titanium bike:
- Upright Handlebars Comfort, stability and gear changes with a simple twist or Drop Handlebars Varied hand positions and precise shifting with Shimano components
- Handlebar Stem Adjusts to your ideal height
- Bags Upright handlebars can be outfitted with a handlebar bag, or on bikes with drop handlebars, select a rear rack and "trunk" bag
- Seat Post Choose “suspension” for back-end shock absorption or go “rigid” for more stability
- Pedals Opt for flat pedals, toe clips or bring your own clipless pedals, which we’ll be happy to mount for you.
All Backroads titanium bikes feature a sturdy ergonomic saddle for added comfort; specially selected, smooth-riding road tires; a carbon-fiber fork to help reduce road vibration; and a triple chainring crankset with 27 easy-to-shift gears.

We also have titanium mountain bikes with front suspension forks and seat post for more comfortable riding on trips where our routes include dirt and rougher paved roads. Mountain bikes are available on select trips only (please see trip pages).

Kid's Bike
Backroads is the only travel company to manufacture its own line of children's bicycles. While the wheels might be small, the performance is big and the safety superb. On all Backroads Family Trips, we offer 20" and 24" bicycles for children. They say that good things come in small packages - and when it comes to bikes for kids of all ages, Backroads is the expert.
Burley Piccolo
Designed for children ages 4 to 10 or up to 85 pounds, this innovative trailercycle is equipped with a six-speed twist shifter. It turns an adult bike into a type of tandem with your child providing some of the pedal power. With the Burley Piccolo, young travelers can exercise some independence while securely connected to an adult’s bike.
Burley D'Lite
For children 60 pounds and under, this sturdy carrier easily attaches to our bikes and provides a comfortable ride in the spacious interior with inner pockets for snacks and drinks, a shoulder harness as well as an adjustable sunshade.

Well AccessorizedAll bikes are equipped with a safety triangle, two water bottles, two bottle cages and for those who want it: hand pump and combination lock, inner tube, tire levers and patch kit. |

Helmets for Your SafetyFor your protection and that of your children, bicycle helmets are required on all Backroads biking and multisport trips. You can bring your own or use one of our quality Giro helmets, equipped with easy-to-adjust retention systems. Three sizes are available for adults and two for children. |
