Jackie grew up destined for exploration, moving from Texas to Florida to New York. In 2009, she once again moved, this time to Costa Rica to run a vacation rental property. She soon fell in love with the country, the people and the pura vida lifestyle, and now considers Costa Rica her home. Jackie currently leads cycling trips for Backroads all over the world, but spends a good chunk of her time guiding in her adopted homeland. Besides cycling and surfing, she has a passion for education and women’s empowerment. Jackie spends time volunteering at Daraja Academy in Kenya for a non-profit called Powerful Beyond Measure that was started by one of her past Backroads guests.
