Max Orleans was raised in Burlington, Vermont, set on the shores of Lake Champlain and on the border of Red Rocks State Park. It was here that he developed a deep passion for indoor activities and his Tetris skills began to flourish. It wasn’t until early in college that Max found the call of the wild. He relinquished his duties as the President of the Boston University Sudoku Club and began traveling back home every weekend to the Green Mountains to hike and explore. In his junior year at BU he decided to spend the semester in New Zealand and his love affair with the country, the outdoors and travel flourished. After graduating with a degree in Hospitality, he joined Backroads and is living his dream leading trips in New Zealand and California. Max is still a Tetris phenom.
