We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
The Lake District's beautiful, yet rugged, topography limits the number of available roads. Although we've carefully crafted this itinerary to feature a mix of the region's most scenic paved and dirt road-biking routes, at times we encounter small trafficked areas, as well as a few sections of dirt roads with loose rocks and sand. Of course, you're always welcome to jump in the shuttle to avoid the busier or rougher sections of the route.
Trips with a small number of guests may be supported by one Backroads Trip Leader and team of knowledgeable local guides. There will always be at least two people hiking on the trail with you.

Trip of a lifetime! Far exceeded my expectations!
the leaders were highly personable, organized and professional and a wealth of knowledge about everything on the trip. the views everywhere were spectacular - in the hotels, hiking, biking, kayaking, everything! the accomdations were really unique and quite luxurious, the meals were all amazing as well. Some of the hiking and biking was challenging with the elevation gains but there were always other options to choose, whether it was an alterate activity or just having the vans tote you and your bikes up the hill to the next portion. My favorite was the boat trip to Isla Victoria on Lake Nahuel Huapi - absolutely stunning mountain views literally 360 degrees around you. There were many wonderful unique opportunities to interact with and learn about the local culture as well, from tango demonstrations to visiting a reknown local artist to having an asado meal at one of our guide's homes.
As always, everything was amazing
