We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
Winter weather in the Canadian Rockies can be among the coldest in North America, but you can comfortably enjoy the outdoors if you’re properly dressed. In order to snowshoe or hike in the snow, you must wear warm winter boots (preferably waterproof) and waterproof breathable pants, jacket and gloves. Your clothing should be warm enough to allow you to comfortably remain outside in below-freezing conditions for two to four hours at a time. Layers are encouraged for when we snowshoe.
You can’t have a winter wonderland without some winter weather. From December through March, when our trips run, snow and below-freezing temperatures are likely, and even rain is possible. Please know that if we encounter severe weather during the trip that affects our planned activities, your Trip Leaders will find alternative activities that you’re sure to enjoy.

I was never a big fan of winter or winter activities but this trip totally changed my outlook. We were blessed with good weather and snow conditions and every outing offered something extraordinary to see and do. Loved our guides, they worked so well as a team that we couldn't even tell if one was "senior" to the other. They seemed to put a lot of thought into making us feel that the trip was customized to make us feel special and that each of our needs were important to them. They made the effort of making everything happening look easy and that takes great organization and social skills. They are also both great drivers in winter conditions!
Simply magical
Snnowshoeing in a snowy paradise by day, incredible dining in beautiful properties at night. Add knowledgeable and energetic trip leaders, and you end up with a very special experience.
