Banff & Yoho's Epic National Parks

It's good to feel small. Among these mountains that loom so large. Hike and bike in vast U-shaped valleys. Stare in awe at dramatic waterfalls. Gaze down on fast-flowing rivers and grand lakes in turquoise shades. You may feel dwarfed by this grandeur, but far from insignificant, because you're in it and part of it. Small is meaningful in the Rockies.

Trip of a lifetime!

By JANE

From Detroit, Michigan

We started the trip as a group of 8 and quickly became a friend group of 22. Our leaders Tarryn, Charles-David and Christian were outstanding. Combine that with the beauty of the Canadian Rockies, challenging hikes around the breath-taking Lake Louise and Lake Moraine makes for a true trip of a lifetime.

This trip was absolutely exceptional in every way. Simply wonderful. The activities, the views, the hotels, the food, the fellow travelers... I could go on and on. And the trip leaders and support staff were the best!! There are not enough superlatives to describe them. Everything about the Backroads experience exceeds expectations. And then some.

Outstanding trip!

Submitted August 2024

By Susanne

From Memphis,TN

Perfect terrain for a multi sport trip! We had amazing views while biking along the Bow River Trail and then just enough climbing to make the bike days challenging and fun! Our hiking routes highlighted the awe-inspiring Rockies, water falls and glacier lakes in every direction. And ending the week with a rollicking white water adventure on the Kicking Horse River was the best. Our group really bonded and enjoyed the professionalism and personal charm of our leaders and support staff throughout. Thank you Backroads for knocking it out of the park again!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

An amazing adventure we will never forget!

Submitted June 2024

By Ashley

From Dallas, TX

This was our first Backroads trip and it was a huge success! Despite the unseasonably cold weather at the start of our trip (snow in June!), we bundled up and enjoyed every moment of it (we are Texans who like the heat!). You just can't beat the views while biking & hiking, we were constantly blown away by our surroundings. Every detail of the trip is so well thought out and executed, we felt pampered. Our leaders Kyle and Madison were the dream team, both so personable yet so professional. We loved our accommodations, Emerald Lake Lodge is so magical! And the food was phenomenal, we were so well fed. We had a large group yet everyone meshed well and we loved meeting all these great new people. We are already talking about which trip we want to do next!

Fun and active trip of a lifetime

Submitted July 2023

By AdamF

From Arizona

The Canadian Rockies were absolutely beautiful and Backroads created such a fun and active experience. Our group was mostly parents in their 50s-60s with adult children in their 20s-30s. I think a couple of the hikes were a little intense for some of the parents due to altitude and incline, but everyone still had a great time. I would happily do this again and would highly recommend this trip! And the guides were amazing of course!
