Dolce Tempo Journey on San Juan & Whidbey Islands
To explore this gorgeous corner of the Pacific Northwest is to get up close and personal with a misty island-dotted landscape—a splash of Alaska mixed with a laid-back island vibe. Picture forested isles, quaint harbors and marine wildlife. Glimpse otters and bald eagles from the seat of an e-bike. Mix in rocky coasts, cozy hotels and the horns of ferry boats and you have a trip as rich in experiences as it is in crisp salty air.

We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
To bring you our favorite parts of this region, we make liberal use of ferry transfers, private boats and shuttles on this trip. Boat travel is included on many days of the itinerary, as we island-hop like the locals do. Note that our daily activities depend on specific ferry departures, and unexpected changes to the ferry schedules may result in alterations to the activities as described. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility and assure you that the quality of your experience will not be affected in the event that changes to the itinerary are required.
