Exceeded Expectations!

Submitted June 2024

By Chris

From Northampton, MA

This was our first Backroads adventure and we were blown away with the trip from start to finish. I had fractured my shoulder 10 days before trip and I am so happy I decided to still go. Our Leaders, Alex, Ellie and KT were phenomenal. I couldn't do the biking, so they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable with extra van time, etc. It was a pleasure spending a little one on one time with them. Energetic, helpful, resourceful, entertaining, knowledgeable, professional, the list of adjectives for the trip and the leaders is endless! I was able to hike, as these hikes are very easy, and the scenery was so memorable, I am so glad I did what I could. We will definitely be looking at more Backroads trips!

I was with my grandson of 11 years old and the activities were organized in a perfect way to be able to enjoy them all together even with more than 60 years age difference. Accommodations, food including breakfast, lunch, picnic, dinner and snacks along the way were excellent. The tour leader was outstanding, going out of the way to satisfy our needs. I am sure this was the first of future trips.

Natural beauty of the mountains is delivered every day whether hiking, biking, rafting, or kayaking. The Backroads staff was professional, kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The differences in physical abilities among the guests are easily handled by the staff.

WOW-yoming!

This trip is everything you hope and expect it to be! Beautiful scenery, every type of wildlife you'd imagine (moose, elk, bear, pikas, eagles, osprey, bison), just the right amount of activity (even though our kayak trip was canceled) and accommodating, knowledgeable, fun, professional guides. I was blown away by the food prep of our guide Beth, who did an amazing job of accommodating my vegan diet with delicious, nutritious, flavorful, substantial vegan lunches every day. (She also happens to be a chef!) Highly recommend the Dolce Tempo and multi-adventure options - it was exactly the right amount of activity and excitement for us (40-somethings who are NOT professional athletes!). This trip is also special because it maxes out at 12 guests - which means you get a lot of attention and care, and you get to really bond with your tripmates. The history and geography of this trip is unforgettable.

This was our first backroads trip. It was an amazing vacation. It took group travel to the next level. Top notch guides Kim Justin and Claire were awesome and so very genuine. Good cohesive, friendly group and perfect weather further enhanced. Great riding and hiking routes. Know going in about the rustic accommodations (which they communicate upfront) and some of the dinners at those inns, but so worth it based on location within parks! Highly recommend!

First time with backroads but probably not the last! The views, the rides, the trip leaders and support staff, the wildlife, and new friends we made. Just some the things I'm grateful for. Overall a great experience. I will be recommending this to my friends.

Great activities, and great people.

This was an amazing trip. Our family lives in 3 separate states (MN, MO, and TX), and we six got together for a thoroughly delightful trip thru Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Jackson WY. We were joined by good people from NC and Barcelona Spain, and it all just clicked. Good food and lodgings, terrific activities and trip leaders! Definitely go with the e-bikes; the 50 mile bike trip with breathtaking scenery was literally a breeze. Watch out, it's easy to overeat on this trip!

Great vacation- we had wonderful leaders and the itinerary was great. Hiking in Yellowstone was amazing and great bike trip back to Jackson. Very fun kayaking and rafting. Leaders were knowledgeable and engaging with all participants. Great to have no tv for a few days and enjoy the quiet. We can't wait for our next backroads adventure- highly recommend this trip!
