Absolutely wonderful trip and leaders in Tuscany
Absolutely lovely hiking tour Tuscany. Our leaders, Lorenzo and Abde were outstanding and added greatly to my trip experience. They were fun, interesting, well-organized and thoughtful leaders. The hikes, demonstrations, food and accommodations were outstanding. I would go on another Backroads trip in a heartbeat.

Unforgettable Italian Adventure
We were seeking a trip that would immerse us in the culture, people, and landscapes of Italy, and Backroads exceeded our expectations in every way. The leadership team was exceptional, and we are already looking forward to reuniting with our hiking companions on future Backroads adventures!

Trip of a lifetime!
My husband and I knew this was going to be a trip of a lifetime, and it by far exceeded our expectations. The food, the wine, the hikes, the fun leaders, the hamlets, the comradery, the lodging, the gorgeous countryside, the education, the memories, the absolutely everything!! Would love to do it again!
Let's Go Again!
Our first Backroads trip and we loved it. From the exceptional guides to the hotel accommodations and spectacular dinners we enjoyed every aspect. Daily hiking through Tuscany was wonderful - a postcard view everywhere you looked. And the food tutorials and cooking demonstrations provided ideas we can use at home. Looking forward to booking another Backroads trip!

Fabulous trip; beautiful hikes; delicious cuisine
Our group was very simpatico and the tour leaders were outstanding. They were knowledgeable, delightful and always looking out for our welfare and happiness. The accomodations and meals were excellent. I ate too much, my fault. The topography and views on the trails were stunning. Strenuous at times but at nearly 75 years old I managed just finel

Another amazing Backroads trip!
This was our 4th Backroads trip and it was totally amazing. The food, the hiking, the scenery, the other people and most importantly the guides! Backroads guides are indeed what makes all the trips we have been on so very special. The guides rock!

Exceptional!
A wonderful week of hiking, cooking, and eating, through the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Lucky to have a great group of fellow travelers that quickly became friends for the week. Accommodations were great! Wonderful weather! Superb, hard-working, fun trip leaders in Jane and Lorenzo, along with Otilia as support made all the difference in a successful trip. Backroads just knows how to do it right; my 2nd trip.

Tuscany Active Culinary Walking and Hiking
This was a perfect trip--fabulous leaders, terrific group, lovely hikes, delicious Tuscan cuisine, and fun hands-on cooking classes, with a smattering of history and cultural "inside scoops."

All we hoped for and more
This trip was fantastic and exceeded even our high expectations! The planning for the trip by Backfroads was very comprehensive, with seemingly every possible speed bump anticipated and alternative arrangements organized "just in case". As a result, we had absolutely no problems, which is not guaranteed on a trip with many "moving parts" in another country.. The accomodations and food were excellent, and the cooking demonstrations (in some of which we participated) were very interesting and fun. The hiking was, for the most part, very pleasant and do-able, with options available. My wife has had multiple ankle surgeries, and did not take the longer hike options; I mostly took the "middle" options, and a few younger guests opted for the more serious options. The great aspect of this is that every guest was able to hike as much or as little as he/she wished. Most important, our trip leaders (Marko and Otelia) were incredible. They were always available, full of interesting and helpful info, and always upbeat and positive. They seemed to be able to accomodate everyone's varied interests and requirements without any issues, and always with a smile. Definitely a five-star experience!

An Unbeatable Experience!
I might never travel another way... This was our first Backroads trip and the guides, the hotels, the views, the snacks... It was top-level concierge service and I can't imagine a better trip. We learned how to make some dishes, we ate a TON, and we walked through the beautiful hills and vineyards of Tuscany. Our *biggest* city was still one of the smallest cities I've gotten to experience in Europe. This is the way to travel!
