National Park, Bar Harbor & Camden
Maine's beauty lies in its rawness. Imagine tart wild blueberries. Hills rising from Acadia National Park's rocky shores. Centuries-old roads, full of character, that hug the shoreline and connect village to village. Morning mist on Penobscot Bay. Even a delicacy like Maine lobster still involves shells and claws. It's raw. It's true. It's our Maine Bike Tour.
Highlights
- Bike along picturesque routes enjoying the salty sea air, the morning fog and the crash of waves on rocky shores
- Engage your senses as you listen to the silence of deep pine forests and soak up breathtaking ocean views
- Discover the countless charms of seaside Camden, with its historic homes and delightful shops and boutiques
- Experience the mouthwatering flavors of the day’s fresh catch, like lobster with plenty of butter for dipping

Wonderful Trip
The Maine biking trip was amazing. Fabulous hotels, great dinners, and of course amazing leaders. They took care of our every need and made the trip fun and upbeat. We loved the sailing adventure add on with Captain Jeff! So beautiful!
Memorable trip
The views were stunning, beautiful accommodations and gracious hosts at both hotels, a welcoming camaraderie with the group, challenging but fun rides, excellent bikes, yummy regional cuisine, including plate loads of lobster, and the absolute best leaders imaginable -- welcoming, caring, discerning, and fun! I had high expectations, but those expectations were exceeded. Thanks for the wonderful memories.
Great Trip!
Gorgeous scenery, excellent accommodations, the best equipment and leaders who do all they can to make your trip the best it can be. What more can you ask for? Backroads is the best!!
Biking, Lobstah, Beautiful Scenery
Backroads never disappoints! Our 5th BR trip in 7 years and everything has been fantastic again. Love that we rode, visited some landmarks, a museum, sailing on a schooner in Maine while enjoying spectacular meals. Our trip guides were all so helpful and fun. The friendships we made were awesome. We always luck out on the weather which adds so much to the experience!

Peak Season in Maine with Backroads
I briefly worked in Maine during the winter many years ago, and finally got to experience it in summer. Acadia was beautiful and had so much history. I felt accomplished climbing Mount Cadillac (thanks to my e-bike -- highly recommend!) and also adored Camden and the surrounding coastal villages and inland forests and farmland. Our leaders took wonderful care of us and the accommodations and food was top-notch. It was also fantastic getting to meet many interesting people in our group. I can't wait to cycle somewhere new with Backroads!

Best trip ever
This trip was excellent. Excellent leaders, beautiful scenery, great equipment. Challenging routes but all levels of riders loved them. I used a traditional bicycle but the e-bikes allowed all participants to complete the rides.
Amazing Trip!
We took a bike tour through Acadia National Park in Maine. Backroads did a fantastic job of selecting routes with great scenery and natural beauty. Our leaders, Hannah, Katarina, and Lizzie were phenomenal and made a great trip that much better. They handled everything from route briefing, to roadside support, dinners and transportation - and everything in between - with professionalism and friendliness. Just an awesome experience that I'll remember forever.
Met our high expectations!
Incredibly well planned logistics, smart, flexible leaders and a good group of travel companions.

Acadia
This was a beautiful route that really gave us a great view of all of the beauty that Maine has to offer.

Spectacular October Weather!
Cycling through Acadia National Park and in-and-around Camden was fabulous. We totally lucked out with perfect weather and beautiful fall color. I was really proud of myself to make it up to the top of Cadillac Mountain.
