Erica Hausfeld began leading trips for Backroads in 2004. She has lead in more than 15 countries and in many US regions. Erica started traveling in high school as an international exchange student in New Zealand, where the travel bug bit hard. She has continued to travel internationally and domestically ever since, picking up backcountry and outdoor skills along the way. Erica has a passion for backpacking, trail running and, most recently, paragliding. She feels most at home in her mini camper van and spending time in the mountains.
