Jackie grew up destined for exploration, moving from Texas to Florida to New York. In 2009, she once again moved, this time to Costa Rica to run a vacation rental property. She soon fell in love with the country, the people and the pura vida lifestyle, and now considers Costa Rica her home. Besides cycling and surfing, she has a passion for education and women’s empowerment. Jackie spends time volunteering at Daraja Academy in Kenya for a nonprofit called Powerful Beyond Measure that was started by a past Backroads guest.
