I've already made a reservation but need/want to change my plans. Can I transfer to a different trip?

Transfers to another trip or to your Backroads Account are always allowed before final payment without penalty, except on Private Trips. After your final payment due date, we are unable to allow transfers and any cancellation will follow the Trip Cancellation Policy below. When transferring to a different date or trip, if the trip costs more than your original trip, you must pay the difference. Insurance, if purchased, could also be increased. Your deposit is fully refundable on Scheduled and Private trips up to 14 days after you book, when you book 14 days or more before final payment due date. Once this refundable period expires, you may still transfer your deposit (or, for Scheduled trips only, place it on your account for a future booking) as long as you make your change before the Final Payment due date, as follows:
- For Scheduled Trips, you have until 95 days prior to the trip to transfer or credit your payment, after which cancellation fees apply.
- For Private Trips, you have up to 14 days after you book, when you book 14 days or more before final payment is due.
- Special Departures, you have until 155 days prior.
- For Active Cruises, that cutoff is 185 days. For Antarctica, the cutoff is 216 days.
